In the third semester of the MSBTE diploma in Information Technology Technology (CO), students face comprehensive theory exams, each worth 70 marks, in four critical subjects: Digital Techniques And Microprocessor (DTE), Database Management Systems, Object-Oriented Programming using C++, and Data Structures using C. The curriculum also includes external practical exams for Digital Techniques And Microprocessor (DTE), Database Management Systems, and Data Structures using C, each valued at 25 marks. Additionally, an internal practical exam for Object-Oriented Programming using C++ also carries 25 marks. The program strongly emphasizes practical learning, ensuring students gain hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the subject matter.
The curriculum, following MSBTE’s K scheme, ensures a straightforward passing criterion of at least 40 out of 100. The assessment method involves a 30-70 mark distribution, incorporating formative (FA-TH) and summative (SA-TH) evaluations. FA-TH is the average of two 30-mark class tests conducted during the semester, while SA-TH is the 70-mark theory paper administered by MSBTE at the semester's end.
The 'K' Scheme Curriculum for the Diploma has been revised for the academic year 2023–24. The official announcement of the third semester curriculum was made in 2023, with the draft curriculum displayed up to the sixth semester. The syllabus for all second semesters is now accessible. Moving into the second year, students will engage in more technical subjects, shaping a comprehensive learning experience.
